Senior Bookkeeper

 

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing all of our financial processes, ensuring that all practices are in line with current Canadian tax laws and eventually also our U.S. Tax obligations. Your expertise in Quickbooks finance software and your advanced computer skills will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with Controller and Corporate Accountants to help prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations.
  • AP, collect and process all invoices, EFT/Wire payments and cheques.
  • Prepare credit card, accruals, and prepaid entries.
  • Review and process expense reports for staff.
  • Accurate Invoicing processes
  • Prepare various bank, accruals, prepaid and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Conduct detailed research on tax legislation for each U.S. State and Province.
  • Manage and optimize tax compliance and reporting using Quickbooks and Excel extensively.
  • Implement and maintain financial software systems to enhance tax filing for applicable U.S. States and Canadian HST and Provincial Taxes
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required.
  • Quickbooks and Excel expert level activities

Experience & Requirements

Experience:

  • Accounting: 3 years (required)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or CPA designation is highly preferred.
  • Proven expertise in bookkeeping processes with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Expert level computer skills, including proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
  • Ability to learn and master new systems quickly.
  • Previous experience in SaaS company environment a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex finance concepts to non-experts.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple deadlines and projects efficiently.

  • In person in Cambridge, ON N1R 6J2

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday

Compensation & Benefits

Salary:

$55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
